Abstract art: The edges of DEFIANCE
My inspiration for my project was my attitude. People in my life tell me what to do but that is one of my major pet peeves. I love to be free and under control. The only people in my life I let tell me what to do are my parent and people I respect. My relationship with my oldest sister is very strained because of this. My sister and I have very contrasting personalities and we fight constantly because of this. I don't want anyone controlling me.
The materials I use for this project was red print making ink, palet knives, linoleum cutters, brayers, sharpie markers, see through paper, pencil clear plastic rectangle. First I designed a sketch. I drew about five before I decided on a final drawing. I then measure the length and width of my drawing. Then we cut a rubber rectangle the size of my drawing. I then transferred my sketch onto the rubber rectangle which then was out lined with a sharpie marker. Then I carved out the rubber that I wanted to be clear. I did a practice print before doing finishing touches. I was finally done. I then measured my final papers and cut them out. I picked the color then printed six prints of my images.
I choose the sharp edges of my main images to show true defiance toward anything it may come it's way. The circle is the opposing force. Their is one opening in the circle showing that everything has a weakness you can target. This way you overcome your own weakness. To be relentless and not let anything tell you how to live your life is the message I want to convey through this art work.

Clay: A path of your own
No matter what type of size your are born in only you can decided your own future. No one can make you do something. As I grow older I see society keep changing. The decisions we make now can and will greatly affect us in the future. The more modern world now has more and more labels and many hope to have a favorable label. I grow up and look back at my past and regret more than a handfull of things. It has changed me into what I am today. Growing older and making more decisions in life will no matter what effect me.
The tools I used were clay, slipp, a knife. a needle, and a rubber and metalic smotther, First I made a square where both deers would stand . I started out by making the hoolowed out body. Then the legs along with the head. My legs had to be thicker than i would have thought. Both of these applied to both deers.
The size of the deer shows the diffrens between both from birth. One looks bigger and more domanit, The smaller one look small and easily picked on. But then you take notice in their stance. The smaller one walks forward with its head help high while the bigger one looks down while walking away from the future. Succes in the future is not decided by birth.
I felt like when I first started this would be an easy project I found out later it was not. With the limited amount of time I was not able to figure out how to add great details onto my sculpture. For this project I would think I could've done better. I would change the amount of time spent on this and be more proactive torwards it. One thing I learnes from this is each project takes their own individual times to finish. Some maybe more or less than others.

Set designer: An easaful homestead
A Home to me is not only something solid like a building but a feeling. I feel a home should be filled with the things you love. Homes to me are warm and happy. There was one point in my life when my home did not feel like home. It was troublesome, but when that was gone, home was the most conftrable place in the world for me. This set piece was made small to convey the feeling of being able to see the whole picture.
The tools I used were were cardboard, paint, gesso, cloth, pictures from magazines, sirafom, tape, cotton balls, wood, a glue gun, and a lot of glue sticks. I started off by tapping four rectangular card board pieces into a small box with two sides missing. Gessoing and painting the bottom part of the box a dark brown was the nest step. NextI glued a cloth for the walls onto the three reamaning sides. Making a table out of wood was after that. What home is complat without somethign to make you warm so I made a fireplace. A window with a view of the outside would then go on the walss. The boarders for the window were made out of wood. A peer gave me the idea od a television and a carpet . I agrred it was a great idea so those were the next to do. Finaly you could not get into you home properly with out a door. After that I was done.
The table was made to represent the coming together of the family to eat. Televison represent a was to entertain the person in the house. The door combined with the carpet it representing the welcoming feeling when you come home . Warm is the representation of the fire place. Window is a glimps of realisim because in every home there is one fault or more in it.
This was both entertaining for me and also brought forth a feeling of acomplishment. I very much like this project. One factor I would change would be the fact that I couldn't touch up more on the details. This includes the height and proprtions of the pieces, The floor tieling, And lastly and paint markings that went wrong. I learned from this project is to enjoy what your are doing or else you are less likely to be productive. In my case I feel in love with what I was doing.

Canvis: the lie hidden behind the truth
Everyone feels sad at least once in their lives, but depression is a completly diffrent thing. Many people may think depression is just a phase and soon they will get over it. This is not the case. Many people dignosed with depression may have long term effects. Medication is also taken by people with derpression . Depression should be brought out as a more serious problem. People with depression and people around them are greatly affected with this ilness.
My tools were paint, paint brushes, gesso, a canvis, and a sharpie. I started off making the canvis and continued with gessoing it. Blue paint was then added on. Once that dried I sketched out the image onto the canvis along with the words. I filled in the words with sharpie. I then made a skin tone and shadow for her and cover the body with the paint. afterwords i sketched on the facial features and painted those in. The hair was made into a braid so it wouldnt bother the rest of her face.
The blue in the background is meant to represent the feeling of sadness. Instead of doing a normal line down the middle i decided to do dots. The doted line represents the feeling of being diffrent. One expression show the pain she is feeling. While the other shows the lie of happiness she whishes to feel. One is fake and one is real. The trurth hidden behind the lie and the lie hidden behind the truth is what this represents.
